Universidade Católica de Moçambique
ImageUniversidade Católica de Moçambique is a private institute of higher education established in Mozambique. The university currently has five campuses in the center and North of the country, with two more campuses scheduled to open in 2009. Known for its high quality of education and faculty, the university is known in the region for its focus on grassroots and research initiatives. Given the important role UCM plays in Mozambique, we are especially proud to have formed a strong relationship with the university on a number of fronts.

Seminar Series with UCM

Odeveza SA, our Mozambican subsidiary, has undertaken to organize a number of seminars to start a public policy dialogue in the country around biofuels. UCM is our valued partner in undertaking this initiative. The first seminar in thise series was held in August 2008 (see the Events section) and other seminars are currently being planned.

Research Initiatives

We are currently developing a research program with UCM's Geography Information Services (GIS) to better understand soil conditions ideal for Jatropha in the local microclimate. We hope to disseminate this knowledge to smallholder farmers across the country to help improve national yields and agricultural practices.
